VDE FNN Recommendation for Feed-In Monitoring

VDE FNN Recommendation for Feed-In Monitoring at Medium- and High-Voltage grid Connections – Already Integrated in SEG’s HighPROTEC Product Line.

The VDE Forum for Network Technology/Network Operation (FNN) is the technical regulator for power grids in Germany. With the guideline "PAV, E Monitoring for Connections to the Medium- & High-Voltage Network", it has published an important implementation recommendation for feed-in monitoring using protection relays.

This guideline supports the practical application of the connection rules VDE-AR-N 4110 and VDE-AR-N 4120 and defines clear requirements for power determination and the functionality of the monitoring. To simplify the implementation of this feed-in monitoring for users, we have already integrated the VDE FNN recommendation as a type-tested function in our HighPROTEC protection relays. With this implementation and the calculation and setting recommendations provided in the VDE FNN guideline, both the standard two-stage monitoring and the monitoring of power consumption can be easily realized.

The PAV, E feed-in monitoring has been available in HighPROTEC relays since Release 3.10.
